Thames is an historical town situated between the calm waters of the Firth of Thames and the majestic ranges of the Coromandel. 

Thames in the late 19th century was one of New Zealand's largest towns, and in fact was even considered as a site for the capital, built on the pioneering industries of gold and Kauri logging.

Thames Rotunda  - Victoria Park
The bandstand was erected in 1901 and it still stands in its original position. The site was named Victoria Park when Queen Victoria died in 1901. The magnificient Pohutukawa trees that surround this rotunda were planted at the turn of the century
