The
next architectural style to appear in Royalton is the fanciful Queen Anne
style. The more variety a builder could incorporate into a building to
highlight texture and material, the more stylish the building became. South
Royalton village, founded when the railroad came up the White River Valley
in 1849, features some of Vermont's best examples of the Queen Anne style.
