About Painesville
Country : United States of America
State : Ohio
County : Lake County
Population :   17 500 inhabitants
Early Settlers came to the Connecticut Western Reserve and the Current Site of the City of Painesville in 1800. Led by General Edward Paine (an officer in the Revolutionary War), a group of sixty hardy settler's founded a community on the banks of the Grand River.

The settlement continued to thrive, and by 1832 the City of Painesville was established.
In 1840, Painesville became the County Seat of the newly-formed Lake County.
People enjoy Painesville, from the breathtaking views along the Grand River, boating, fishing, and swimming on nearby Lake Erie to the festive park programs,
including summer concerts at the bandstand in the Veteran's Park downtown, and beautifully maintained natural areas.
 About Veteran's square
Plenty of shade trees, benches, and picnic tables make Veterans Park an attractive destination for downtown explorers as well as county office workers on their lunch hour. This downtown green space anchors Painesville’s historic district and offers a quiet counterpoint to the imposing county buildings and commercial district surrounding it. There are several places to get a bite to eat nearby. In the summertime the octagonal gazebo in the square is surrounded by flower gardens and is a popular site for weddings. The annual Party in the Park is held in Veterans Park in the summer, and in December Santa Claus arrives during the Spirit of the Season event.

It is held at the Park on the Square and local artists have all sorts of their artwork on display and for sale (paintings, photographs, jewelry, and various "crafts"). There are also musicians playing at the bandstand all day.
Come to the Gazebo at Veteran’s park on select Fridays throughout the summer and enjoy the music and fun.
