About
Veteran's square
Plenty
of shade trees, benches, and picnic tables make Veterans Park an attractive
destination for downtown explorers as well as county office workers on
their lunch hour. This downtown green space anchors Painesville’s historic
district and offers a quiet counterpoint to the imposing county buildings
and commercial district surrounding it. There are several places to get
a bite to eat nearby. In the summertime the octagonal gazebo in the square
is surrounded by flower gardens and is a popular site for weddings. The
annual Party in the Park is held in Veterans Park in the summer, and in
December Santa Claus arrives during the Spirit of the Season event.
