LaGrange, Oldham County's largest city, is a National Register City and Historic Shopping District. It is filled with historic site, iron front building, restaurants and shops, and the Renaissance Revival style Courthouse built in 1875, most of which are clustered along the railroad tracks which run through the center of town where trains still rumble through every day.

Oldham County was formed in December 1823. It was Kentucky's 74th county and was named for Colonel William Oldham, a Revolutionary War officer from Jefferson County. The County Seat is LaGrange. Oldham County is located in north central Kentucky, along the Ohio River and is part of the outer bluegrass region. La Grange was established as the county seat in 1838. (Oldham County Tourism)
The bandstand is in a little corner of the so called "Town Square" in front/back of the new court building and jail and is surrounded by antique shops, homes, offices, etc.

Project Guild is apparently just a name for a group of independent people who occasionally donate money  for projects for the community, and the bandstand happened to be one of them.

During Oldham County Day (Third Saturday in July), there's usually a parade through town, and a lot of booths set up (crafts, etc), all around the general area of the "gazebo".
